Outrage in Senegal after 9-year-old girl becomes pregnant after being raped

In Senegal, the case of a 9-year-old girl, pregnant after being raped by her Koran teacher, has sparked debate and outrage -- particularly from rights organisations. In Senegal, victims of rape and incest are required to carry their pregnancies to term, under threat of two years in prison and a significant fine. The lack of response from political figures has led activists to fear that the law will remain unchanged.
